Hmm my post about the power supply didn't post earlier.

PC Power and Cooling got back to me. My Supply will be ready next week. Custom length internal power cables (14 -19" vs 20-36") and a gloss black paint job. Oh yeah and 610 watts of continuous power.

I'm wating for the PC Power guy's to get back to me saying the power supply is ready.

My motherboards are waiting at the computer store for me. I'm almost there.

Now to start painting the room and doing the carpet, no wait I should make sure the Ampro doens't blow up again, no I need to build a screen wait the HTPC's not finished. I have to mount the switchers. Oh gotta get the Christmas tree Shocked

Too many things going on all at once and that's just untill I leave the house. LOL

I'm getting there. The paint should be done tomorow on the outter case pannels. Can't wait to see how that turns out.

Ok PC Power guys have gotten back to me. It'll ship next week. Excellent. I picked up the mother boards. Body shop is still slow. They tell me tuesday. I hope so.

Now that I have the Ampro running I want to set this and all the other bits and pieces I have aquired over the last 6 months up all together on my projector cart.

I've decided to find an ULTRA brand fan in black to match the case, the one I had was blue to match the way the factory sent it. I'll use the blue one on the Ampro.

Well the replacement, replacement power supply is still running 5 days after I put it in. However there are other issues. See my HELP 4000G thread in the main forum.

Yep the blue fan and whatever other color I can find that's quiet will be perfect for teh Ampro. I was at TigerDirect last week but they only had chrome fans. A little too flashy.

Update: Ok Jan 2, 2007 Power supply shows up. Short cables, tight fit. Looks nice. Only thing is I thought it would be glossy black not matte but that's ok. Sniff, sniff. Wink

Tomorow I'll goto the body shop time permitting and check out the pannels.

I went to the body shop. The owner was out to lunch ( yes literaly ) and I didn't get a chance to inspect them. I'll try again tomorow time permitting.

Right. I saw the case yesterday. It didn't turn out too badly.

Aparently the front pannel had to be redone. The new paint on top the stock paint caused the stock blue paint to lift right off the plastic. Just like a paint stripper was applied.

Keep this in mind if you are having a case painted. It may be better to have the stock paint stripped so they can start with the base surface.

The top panel got some overspray from the front panel and the side panel got touched while it was wet so those are being repainted today.

They are wet sanding the front panel for me to make it shine and to take the little dust specks out.

Should be ready on Friday.

Time to start the build.

I know it's terrible. Every time I'm about to finish it something come$ up and $teal$ my fun money. That and people never deliver stuff to me on time.

On the brighter side my hard drives are in. 2 Seagate 320GB with 16meg cache. 1 IDE one SATA.

Case comes back firday and 4 GB of name brand matched ram should be in shortly.

Not sure on the video card. I'll make that decision after it's running. It has Geforce 6150 built in. I may just go for a cheapy to begin with.

Then I can upgrade to something faster if this won't play the games I want. It probably will though as the video card in this box is a 7800 GS and more than fast enough.

My biggest problem with this HTPC is the essoteric componenets lot's of custom stuff. It's almost like one of my car restorations. Sure you can put cheap parts on and drive it now but I can just never make my self settle for that. I always end up spending way more. Plus I hate buying things twice. In the case of the video card I'll compromise now. I can always use that card as a spare.

I love having spares around.

So I went to pick up the panels today. Surprise they weren't ready. He swears next Monday but with the bad weather coming I'm betting not likely.

Now I'm thinking about which video card I should grab. Time to start a new thread and do some research.

Got tha pannels They look nice. I'll have to take a picture on the hood of my Toyota. After all it was painted to match ( I am SUCH a geek )

I don't have a camera right now so I'll get the pics up ASAP.

If you ever get something painted glossy. Get it wet sanded. Makes it really shine.
