As much as I would love to see Cliff's setup, Chicago is a bit too much of a drive for me. Not to mention my wife's birthday is the 2nd so that's out. Maybe one day.

However, Virginia is more realistic so I might just have to try and make that one. I have a feeling I will come back to my setup very depressed though. Crying or Very sad

Thanks for posting that screen shot, John. There goes another $60 down the tubes. PGR is damn good, but GT5 looks hot.

Man, I have to say I Am Legend was a pretty good movie. Most scary movies have a cheese factor that's a little too high for me to really get into, but I do love most things post-apocalyptic - so that probably helped. A couple of damn scary parts. Oh, and there are some AWESOME dark scenes which ROCK on CRT. One in particular is excellent. Scary as hell.

So, this is CRT Party West and CRT Party East, yes? I just might be able to make the West Party. I've done Art's shindig two years in a row - might be time for a change. A little less driving and a little more partying is cool, too. Gotta check schedules with the ball and chain. There a hotel relatively close to your place, Cliff?

Later,
SC

Hey SC. I hope you can make it. I look forward to meeting you.

GT5 is AWESOME. I play a little almost every day. I just got to the "A" level races. You get a BMW Concept 1. But the first "A" level race is a 5 lap @ Daytona..... the BMW was too slow, i switched to the Nissan GTR

hitting the banked turns @187 mph....... Shocked

nice

Hmmm... I better start thinking about the demo disc theme.

I've been tempted to buy a Blu-Ray burner... these meets might be a good excuse. Except the damn BD-Rs are still so expensive.

I bought me one yesterday big dog. Thumbs Up

I'm building a new computer tonight.

New computer:

Intel Quad Q6600 (will seriously overclock this puppy)
4GB DDR2
Nvidia 8800GTX
LG BD/HD DVD
Soundblaster X-FI

Should be a little screamer. Very Happy

I was told last night by casey that BD-R 25GB discs are 15 bucks......... still too expensive but will pick up a couple just for the hell of it.

I have a couple freebie tickets with United to use up, so I suggested to the wife that Chicago would be a great vacation...

Hey,

thought I should mention that Radio Shack has GT5 on sale currently for $29.99.

It's in store only and sadly,.. My local store is not one to stock and sell PS3 games but thought I would mention it anyway.

It's not usually $60 anyway it's usually $39.99 so this RS sale is for $10 off regular price.

Thanks for the tip, Brian! I'm considering getting GT5 Prologue. What's the framerate like?? Is it consistent?

I don't have it.

(Mostly because my local RS doesn't have it but also because I just recently bought a few other games on Ebay so I'm kind of all out at the very moment.)

I hear it's good. Keep in mind it's a prologue to the actual GT5 so it's perhaps like a demo of sorts.

Clarence, I will go halves with you on that drive if you will burn me the occasional BD-R disc. I would supply those as well of course.

I'm going to order it anyways... I'll bring it to the meets. If I have any luck with making a decent demo/test BD-RE, I'll let everyone know and we'll figure out whether I should order a stack of blank BDs.

In addition to all of the software tools that I had for making the HD-DVDs, I recently bought Photoshop Premiere Elements which has some Blu-Ray menu authoring, so I'll play with that too.

My main objective is to try to get some real nice full-bandwidth 1080P clips... not the usual 1080i ts stuff.

I'm sure that will come in handy with your new photography hobby as well. Wink
