Woohoo! My adapters arrived Barry. Now all I gotta do is get the piece of aluminum out of my eyeball that got there from me chamfering the edges and smoothing it out a tad before painting. Owie!
Hope it rains this weekend so I can spend time getting them in. Screw the yardwork!

I just got done preping them, cleaned them with alchohol (hic) and got the first coat of flat black on them. This afternoon they go into the oven to bake them for a couple hours at 275. (Yeah I know...they're going to be hidden so why bother).
I'm pumped!!! I'll have em in this weekend and the BOC painted and remounted....and then continue saving my pennies for MP mods.
Got a Denon 1730 low end DVD player yesterday to replace the Panny S97...or to see if it WILL replace it. It was NIB so cheap I couldn't pass it up.

Norm would say "make it out of wood"
He can't do anything without an expensive machine and the absolute best looking wood.

I know. He just rubs me the wrong way. not quite as bad as Bob Villa though.
I like Dean Johnson from "Home Time" as long as that Joanne Leibler is not with him.

That puzzles me. For years, when Vila was on TOH all norm could say was.."well bob" and vila would cut him off and answer his own question. Whatta blowhard. But norm is pretty vanilla. How could anybody not like norm???

Mostly because he has the ULTIMATE in everything. No-body has a lot of the stuff he uses. Its an unrealistic show for the everage guy with a home shop. Other than that I think he as a great craftsman.

Yeah I DID have eye protection on...I dutifully wore the goggles even though I was using a plethora of different hand files. No power tools for me!
It was when I took the shirt off I was wearing that I got the metal chip in my eye. DOH! I need to find a full body condom next time because any time I do anything around the house I end up getting....wait for it....
f*ck***!
I got them all painted and baked in the oven today...man do they look sweet. It's a shame they're going to be buried inside the pj but it'll look nice when it's opened up. One of my future projects is to redesign the card cages to prevent them from dropping down from heating and cooling. Twice now I've had to reseat the focus board with the thing ceiling mounted.
A friend of mine does anodizing and said he'd red anodize all the metal RF covers inside for me. Again, kind of a waste, expecially unless it's opened up but I'm thinking if it gets nice and tricky looking inside I might just mold a clear plexigalss top panel to show it off. I can't afford high end audio and video but until I can, it'll be fun tricking it out under the hood on the cheap.

Take some pictures Greg.
what kind of paint did you use?
I'm also wondering why you felt the need to file them. You should Not file the inside round edges nearest the Lens body because the close fit serves to block light escaping toward the screen. I designed it that way
