I bought a TV Wonder HD 650 tuner card yesterday, installed it and the ATI Catalst program but it refuses to find any channels. I know the signals are on the cables, they work on the standard TV quite well. It seems like the card is just dead. Anyone else got one of these?

I don't know the TV Wonder HD but it sounds like you may be trying to find analog channels with a ATSC digital tuner.

I'm using an OTA antenna for digital and cable for analog. It's a dual tuner card and it won't even detect the analog OTA channels. I've tried swapping the cable connections with no change. No FM radio stations either.

Sounds like either a dud card or a driver problem.

Do you have any other PC you can try it in?

One of two things....it's the Craptastic driver for the card ( you did install the driver before the software right? )
OR.........................it's the Craptastic ATi Software for the card.

I have two HDTV wonder cards. The ATi software crashed and burned my PC so bad I have to respin the whole thing twice with old drivers to make it work.

Now you have the newer card so it may not be so bad. However try this amazing program. It beat ATi's software hands down AND it's small enough to fit on a floppy! Four times! Awesum program no signal drop out's like the ATi Multiretardo Centre software.

I give up. I can't get this damn tuner card to work at all. I'm going to use the digital cable dvr box for tv and the pc for BD/HDDVD. I really have no patience for this lousy software sh*t.

Another dis-satisfied ATi customer. I feel your pain.

I swore off ATi after the last two HTPC disasters. Then Nvidia went and changed thier cards so no custom resolutions worked and now I had to buy another ATi card. I'm reinstalling WinXP and the ATi drivers shortly. I hope they are as great as they always were.

Did you buy it at a place where you can return it?

Check out the dvico 7 series card. Aparently much better.

Tonite I uninstalled all the ATI software, pulled the card, restarted it and cleaned the thing up, getting rid of anything I didn't need. Reinstalled the card, started to reinstall the software (again, 4th time) and it rebooted itself in the middle of it. I ran the install again except this time I started 3 copies of it and it made it all the way thru the installation. It found a half dozen ota digital channels but nothing else. I'll keep trying to beat it into submission until saturday, if it won't obey it goes back to fry's!

I used the Gen 1 ATI Wonder HD and it worked really pretty good with XP MCE. I had to also to have a ATI Theater X SD card in the same box for it to work correctly. All I loaded was the ATI drivers and the M$ HD rollup for MCE. Never messed with the ATI junk software although my HTPC is Intel based so that could have made a difference.

The guide based recoding worked very well. But now I went to Vista and ATI decided they were not going to support Vista with that card so its now sitting with the 2 Hi-Pixs and several SD-Capture card.
