So one last question. I hooked up my Wii this morning and it works fine but is very dark and not worth having connected if the picture is going to be that dark and grainy. I have it hooked into my Centerstage with a regular RCA cable and the output on the centerstage is 720P. Is there anything I can do? Or does the Wii have to go back on my 27" Mitsubishi?

I have our Wii connected to a Sony D50 projector. I am just running the signal into a video input on my receiver which outputs via a video output to the video in of the D50. It's projected on a 110" screen. Looks allright for 480i. Am considering buying the cable that will allow for a 480p signal.

Andy, have you checked to see if there are brightness controls on individual inputs on the Centerstage? What about brightness/contrast on the G70? Where's it set? Do you scale any of the other SD inputs to 720p?

The DVD and the LD are both through the centerstage at 720P and I already adjusted it by uping the brightness to +45 for the Wii. It is just very blury compared to my tube television. The laser disc picture is so poor that I never watch it. I actually just have it hooked up so I can use the on screen displays on my Proceed AVP.

Is there anything that upconverts signals to 1080i?
If I decide to get a HD DVD player, what will I need to do then?
My guess is that I will eventually have just HD DVD and HD satellite. And maybe the Wii.
I am about to order, I just don't want to make a mistake.

Won't the Centerstage scale to 1080i? It should be able to scale 480i/480p inputs to a whole bunch of different output resolutions 1080i included.
The HD Fury and gender changer is all you need to get started and fine going forward - regardless of what you decide to add down the road.
If you choose to add an HD DVD and/or BD player, you'd just need an HDMI switch to switch between HDMI sources.
As for scaling your DVDs, you might find that even a cheap Toshiba A3 (what, $100 at Walmart?) upscales your old DVD's as well or better than does the Centerstage.
How good is your projector setup? How well have you set up the G70 at other resolutions and aspects? Did someone set it up and install it for you originally or did you DIY? All you've seen on it so far is scaled SD via the Centerstage, right?

I had Michael Hamilton of The Real Picture do the set up of my projector. I just ordered everything I need. I will have Michael come out again if I run into any problems. It seems straight forward and I'm not a complete idiot; just partial.
You know I don't think he set it up at other resolutions because I didn't have any to set up with at the time. (2 years ago)
What is a Tosiba A3? I'll look it up now.
What would you recommend to replace my centerstage with in the near future?

Don't know that you need to replace with anything, really. You'll probably find that once you get a taste of HD, you'll watch less and less SD material. You could just keep it to scale the Wii, SD home video tapes, etc.
You could even end up like me. I don't know if I've EVER watched anything SD (besides scaled DVD) in my theater, and I've been using it for 8-9 months now.
I asked about setup because (as you may know already) each resolution that you plan to run can be tweaked separately and is saved in separate memory blocks in the G70. If the guy that was setting up your system a couple years ago had only your Centerstage as a source, and it was outputting only one main resolution, he may not have tweaked other resolutions. What resolution does the Centerstage output to the G70 when you're using your SD DVD player?
Wait, is the Centerstage set up to output only one resolution, or can it output different resolutions depending on the source that's selected?
Snap a few pics of your system and room if you don't mind and have time - we all like seeing each others' setups!

I will take pictures this weekend. Sorry I can't do it before then, but I'm working crazy hours right now.
The centerstage can put out different resolutions depending on the source. My DVD player runs at 720p.
I can't wait until the HD Fury gets here.
Thanks again. This forum is the best. I'll be joining it soon.
