Hi all,
1st post for me in this section so bear with me.
Wondered if anyone could direct me to a possible cause / solution to this:
Current setup (still not tottaly complete but please read on......)
1 TV Sagam 50" HTD 501 (non hdcp compliant but 1080i HD compatible) rear projector TV
1 Sony STR DG 910 3 x HDMI in 1 x hdmi out A/V amp
1 Sky HD box
1 Gamer HD Fury
I received the Fury gamer yesterday (3 days to the UK. Very happy with that).
TV has some limitations on the VGA and DVI-I input (supposedly stopping at 720p) so the final config. for me was going to be a transcoder to get the signal from the fury into the only "listed 1080i" input which is a component.
However.... Boys toys and all that, I tested the gamer in the vga with COD 4 and to my pleasant surprise, it resolved the game at 1080i !!!!! Full screen no probs!
Great me thinks! Only downside therefore seemed to be that I have a gamer sticking out the front of my TV.

Today, wife wanted the traditional post Christmas keep fit video putting on so I duly complied but the DVD then positioned itself in the top left hand corner of the screen (black space to the right and to the bottom).
Put in the game again..........Full screen, Put in the DVD again..........Top left corner!
On switching to TV input on the amp, and due to the fact that the amp can feed component input to hdmi the same thing occured. Sky (currently running into the amp on component) due to being fed to the now active hdmi channel then appeared on screen but as per the DVD, was in the top left hand corner. Black strip to the right and bizzarely, a full width screen strip of the same TV channel at the bottom UNDER the main top left positioned image.
Tried changing the res of the SKY HD box to 720 but the position of the image didn't alter.
Any thoughts on where I should be looking for a reason / solution for this?
Secondly,
Can anyone tell me what the actual difference is between using a DVI-I adaptor (Want to try the Fury in the DVI input on the TV) and a lead terminated with DVI one end and VGA the other.
I have read many posts where an adaptor will cause the fury problems but a lead can solve it.
Am I missing something here or are the connections to the appropriate end not the same with each item.
I would have thought that a 2 ended adaptor would be better due to there being no cable involved! or are does this limit the connections to the pins in any way?
Cheers
Dean
