Ok, provided this actually hits the market maybe a PC with something like the Abit AB9 Pro with nine SATA2 drives (start with 500GB WD for $90/each) and then get a couple of these HDPC-20 units ...

Its gonna be Vista only. Probably because of the DRM.

I would hope that DirecTV and the programmers they contracted to develop this product allows for the playback to be conducted across home networks--even if that means Windows Home [Corruption] Server. What this could mean is small DVR PCs acting like thin clients for a DVR server with TBs of disk space.
