Hi Kal, on the front page the "popular forum topics" link to the first post of a thread... is it poss. to have it go to the most recent? or better still, when a thread becomes multi page can the "reply" button at the top of the first page become a "most recent post" type button?
I am not sure if I suggested this previously, if I did please disregard or delete this post.
Thanks again for all the great work!! the new server seems to be less trouble from this side of the screen Very Happy

The intent of the "Popular Forum Topics" on the main www.curtpalme.com page is to get users who don't frequent the forum (or even know about it) to visit. Most of these users have not read any of the thread so it starts at the first first post. The intent of that list of posts isn't for frequent forum visitors to use it as a list of new posts. That's what the special Club Members "Recent Posts" table right in the forum is for. Wink

It looks like this:

(It's actually about twice as long now... so you see a lot of recent posts, and clicking on a thread takes you to the last post).

I'm not sure I follow. If I replace the reply button how are people going to reply?

Kal

membership DOES have its privileges..
Laughing

I was thinking that the post reply button at the top of the first (or any) page is redundant as most people read to the end of all the posts and use the post reply button there at the bottom.

Hey Kal, is there an option to display that recent post table somewhere? I used to have it a while ago, but haven't seen it recently.

EDIT: Just realised it says I am no longer a club member... is it only for 12 months or something? You should send reminders to renew if so

EDIT 2: Ok, I was being lazy, looked it up myself, wow, has it been a year already?!

Yeah, sorry - the software version I have installed doesn't sent notices automatically. One of the newer versions does ... it's on my TODO list. Considerable work since I highly modified the original code.

Sorry, I don't like the idea... breaks consistancy of the app and it wouldn't be something easy to add anyways.

Woohoo. Club Member! 8)

Maybe you could have an auto renew option, or a lifetime membership option like at the other site?

Good options Gino. I'll look into it.
