I started transforming my Cine 8 to use rebuldable tubes. With the BG808 as a donor machine, I have sucessfully transplanted the BG808 tubes and neckboards into the Cine 8. And it works. Case repaint in the future and when I get some new tubes, it should be a great machine. now if I can only make room for it.

The Cine 8 has v1.01. Need to find what the latest version is and see if I can get it.

Good stuff! Congrats!
The only problem I see is that those RGB neckboards from the BG808 are older and a step backwards (75mhz) then then ones in your Cine8 (120Mhz).
Of course, if your original Cine8 tubes were toast, newer MEC tubes on 75Mhz neckboards would look better then toast original tubes driven by the 120Mhz neckboards!

Yea, the tubes are past toast. I'm hoping I can modify the original neckboards to work on MEC tubes then reinstall them. But for now I just wanted to swap over the tubes, magnetics and associated RGB hardware. I put the Sony tubes and magnetics in the BG808 but something isn't working right. It will power up then shutdown again.
As soon as I can get some tubes I'll put up screenshots.

Looks good. If you do decide to repaint it you should be able to find a place locally that will custom match the paint. I friend of mine got a gallon of Barco white and Cine 9 blue mixed up for about $15 bucks each. Home depot sells a disposable spray bottle you can add the custom paint to. It works ok if you don't have spray equipment.

It is very easy to modify the 120 Mhz Sony pinout type neck boards for either Barco or Marquee 180xxx tubes. I have done it to my BG808s and it runs just fine.
I ended up installing the Sony tubes in a BD808 (non s) and it runs fine too. Lots of neck board modifications all the way around had to be done but it was easy.
I really liked the BG808s and wanted to have my perfect tubes running in the best projector.

I have gotten pm's from people to provide more info so here it is. The picture will be coming later because I am having trouble with the downlaod. Most of the socket pins have been cut but a few blanks are left alone. That keeps the socket secure to the board. The pinout of the 180DVDB22 is:
1=blank
2=blank
4=blank
5=G1
6=G2
7=blank
8=cathode
9=filiment
10=filiment
11=G1
12-G1
13=blank
Pinout of the 180DMB22 (Marquee tube) is:
1=blank
2=G2
4=blank
5=G1
6=blank
7=blank
8=cathode
9=filiment
10=filiment
11=G1
12=G1
13=blank
Pinout of all Sony (either 8 or 9") tubes are:
1=G3
2=blank
4=G1
5=G2
6=filiment
7=filiment
8=blank
9=G1
10=cathode
11=blank
12=blank
13=G1
If in doubt, you can always look thru the glass to see where the different elements actually hook up to the socket pins. This info I provide is for a courtesy, I can make no guarentee about your results.
But if anyone wants to trade their 120Mhz Sony neckboards for the MEC boards, just let me know and I would be happy to swap with you.

Yes, I have the 75MHz boards that unmodified work with MEC tubes. If you want to trade me your Cine (Sony) neckboards for them just let me know.

Ile, I did not know that but it sounds reasonable. Do you know if the 180DMB22 (MEC tube for Marquee) is also supposed to be 5.1volts? I remember reading some Marquee threads where they said up to 6.5 volts was ok? Right now I am running (2) 180DMB22 tubes and (1) 180DVB22 in the same BG808s chassis so if the voltages are different between these 2 tubes that could be an issue.
I have another BG1209 that has 1 MEC tube and 2 Sony tubes and I notice the MEC tubes comes up just a couple of seconds early than the Sonys on startup, so perhaps that is caused by this voltage difference.

Hi Rvonse
I want to modify my R762721 neckboards (Sony 07MFP2 tubes) for use with Panasonic Tubes (Barco 180DVDB22).
Just topic!
I see your image and have some questions:
No re-wire back of the circuit?
Re-wire the contacts of the socket only?
.... now I post an image of my neckboard and write red words on each contact.
Can you indicate exactly connections?
ps.... I do not speak English I hope of to have been clear.
