Just wondering what caused the outage on June 26/27. I see we had 294 users. Did we overload the forum?

I think the 294 is incorrect... I noticed it kept going up and up during the day so it seems people's sessions were getting 'stuck'. 294 users was at 4:37PM and the server died around 5PM requiring a reboot.

Likely a memory overload as something wasn't freeing properly. I don't think it's just the users on the forum... 294 isn't a large number of concurrent sessions. We should be able to handle 1000's easily.

Kal

Too many digital trolls methinks...Wink

I'm all for a '1&1 SUCKS' banner ad. We could link them to it and see if they smarten up...Very Happy

Unfortunately Kal tells me it's MASSIVE work to switch hosting companies at this time, so we'll ride with it for a while and see if they get any better.
