well, i've decided to get off my @ss and build the hush box for my NEC XG.
many of the hush boxes that i have seen are on skinned projectors - that is, the side and top panels have been removed. how important is it to do this? i suspect that if i do not take them off, it might affect ventilation. but i'd rather not need to find a place to store them the pieces

I had some of my panels off inside the hushbox, but I think Doug recommends you keep them on. It controls the ventilation better, among other things.
