You know, I am use to seeing BOTs trying to register an account on my local HT forum, but sometimes I really, really, really have to wonder how a domain name can even get registered considering its implied name.

For instance, how the h3ll does incesttrade DOT com managed to get registered? There is something about tolerance, and then there is someone willing to test even the legal establishment.

Freedom of speech!

The doesn't necessarily have to even deal with the topic under which the name is registered... I could have called this website www.frozenvegatables.com for all it matters. Smile

FYI: A good percentage of these spambot forum registrants don't even have a website up and running. All they do is register the domain for $5/year and then spam the crap out of it by registering all over the place to drive up the perceived popularity of the domain so that they can sell it for a small profit.

Somehow, I would have to wonder about someone looking to artificially drive up the interest, and hence the value, of incesttrade. Then again, one can only wonder.

Yep - who knows. I used to get 100's of them here and the names are pretty funny at times...

I've got a couple hundred domain names registered as a side business, and frankly some of them would make you wonder what kind of perverted freak I am Wink But hey, they make me money!

Exactly how do they make you money? What are you up to? Just curious!

Domain parking. You can make money with advertisements on domains that receive traffic. I'm not making a fortune, but they have all paid for themselves.

Cool. That's what I figured you were doing... At $4-7/year for domains, it doesn't take long to pay them off with advertising. What types of ads are you using?

I use a service... premiumtraffic.com. I've also done some basic adsense arbitrage stuff and made a little that way, but it requires a lot of tweaking. With premiumtraffic I sacrifice some cash I'd make for a set it and forget it kind of thing.
