Hi members,

I would submit an intricate question.

I dismantled my old long time loved BG 800 and saved some parts including the internal RCU 800
The RCU 800 is far better than the following RC (ex. BG808, 1208, 1209) and I ask if it's possible to convert the internal RC to a infrared active RC.

There are some difference in main board or you have only to weld some parts in it?
IR diodes, battery cables, etc, etc..

Thanks for your answer,
Alberto

I’d like to know too that remote looks awesome
Wonder if can 909 can be made compatible to both as well ?

I got a ipre modded rgb switcher board and it drastically increased sharpness
To my 909 so im all pro mods now it’s unbelievable the difference
A cooler retro remote would be also cool 😎

I had one of these remotes that was IR that came with a Barco graphics 500(which is a 800 with 7" tubes). It worked fine and used a 9v battery. I have not seen it in 20 years and I replaced it with the newer type. I assume you could turn it into a remote with the newer remote for parts like the IR emitter?

Hi,

Converting an internal RCU to an infrared one seems possible. A few parts have to be removed and many to be added. I combined both schematic diagrams and highlighted the changes...
