Okay, first off, if anybody cares, I'm not trying to bootleg anything or do anything illegal with this. I just want to be able to watch Blu-Rays on my CRT TV. I use a Crystalio II for D to A conversion and scaling. Even without scaling, it looks better than any other D to A adapters I've used. I always had some degree of artifacts from using an HD Fury or a DeLock.

Unfortunately the Crystalio II blanks any HDCP signal being converted to analog. It's a pretty frustrating decision from a product that otherwise does almost everything I need from a video processor. So, I need to find a device to remove the HDCP from the signal before going into the Crystalio II.

I tried a cheap 4k splitter from Amazon, and I got a working video signal from it but it looked very bad. It was very jaggedly distorted, so I returned it.

Now I'm looking for one that works without issue. It only needs to support up to 1080p as I will never have a source higher than that. Extra bonus if this is possible with a passive device, but I don't get the impression that it is. I've seen a lot of EDID emulators that are passive but I've read that they can't defeat HDCP.

Thank you!

What CRT projector make/model? Most people will stay digital right to the end and then use (for example) a Moome HDMI input card right in the projector.

I'm actually using a direct-view presentation monitor. No possibility of HDMI in. Also, I want to be able to use the Crystalio II to correct issues with scaling, aspect ratio, etc.

Sorry! I misunderstood CRT TV to be "CRT projector". Not reading carefully enough. Wink

Was it the black and blue Orei splitter, by any chance?

BTW what presentation monitor do you have? I have the one from this article:

https://mikejmoffitt.com/articles/0051-nettv-rgb.html

I did the mod he wrote about, as well! The speakers/subwoofer(s? it may have dual subs) on this monitor are insane. 1/3 of max volume is too much!

Bitsquad, which version of Crystalio II you own (3100, 3300 or 3800) ?
