SOLD

Asking $100 $50 for the set + shipping from K2J3E4 (Canada).

Adapter plates not included. Those are genuine JoustMods parts and would cost an extra $200.

If anyone still has an 8500 without color-filtered lenses, I'd consider these. I thought they were by far the best picture upgrade that I did to my 8500. Without the filtered lenses the colors were drab and lifeless; with the lenses, the colors were vibrant and lifelike. HUGE improvement.

For sure! Many (most?) CRTs early on were about light output for business type applications, not home theater with accurate colours. Filtering reduces light output so the manufacturers gave people what they wanted: More light.

Many later CRTs were more about correct colour reproduction as they were being used in HT so tinted C-elements and better tinted glycol started to pushed and mods to use tinted lenses were of interest, like this: http://www.curtpalme.com/Marquee_HD144_install.shtm

Thanks for the plug Gary. I remember your posts from back in the day that helped me learn about this stuff.
