Well, I just made the change from the X900 to a Projectiondesign F35.

Picture quality is far superior to my JVC with one caveat - the ability to do a fade to black.

Intrascene contrast is significantly better. Colour is much better. The added light output transforms my 120" screen into a 120" direct view TV. Motion handling much better. Picture is sharper. '

Negatives? Fan noise, especially in dual lamp mode - but I certainly don't notice it in a movie. And black level, or lack thereof. A friend is bringing a sample of stewart firehawk to see how that assists the black level.

Highly recommended projection tech. Those Norwegians build good stuff.

and the pics don't even begin to represent the image quality.

all pics taken with single lamp. dual lamp mode is amazing - effectively a 120" direct view TV. Chucking numbers into screen calculator and with the studiotek 130 i'm getting 740 nits, or 216 foot lamberts. its a transformative experience.

I have a local friend who is by the way an optical expert as well. He is also big fan of these Barco/Projection design projectors. He modifies routinely these projectors for higher contrast (by sacrificing light output).

I don't find that the contrast is lacking at all.

Fan noise is higher than the JVC, especially in dual lamp mode.

Absolute black level is higher than the JVC, but a new Stewart greyhawk will take care of that nicely.

Very very happy.
