Yeah I get that. I'm just wondering if a switcher may handle the signal better. I had good luck at 1080p getting analog audio but this is a different animal all together. In other words I was of no help. Laughing

How's he using it? Both of my sticks worked fine when plugged into a TV with its own built-in speakers. The difficulty was getting it to work with projector-and-receiver.

He's got a 65" SONY 1080p TV and an Onkyo receiver with HDMI. SO far as I can tell from what he said he's got no sound through the receiver for surround sound.

I had a similar situation where I wanted to use a older receiver and get sound of of a firestick. I bought 2 HDMI audio extractors from amazon and I could not get either one to work. I abandoned it and just went out and bought a cheap HDMI receiver as it was so troublesome to get working.
