I had to update from DirexctX 6.1 to DirectX 8.0a to make the 3D hardware acceleration work. It would only see software rendering in the Direct X diagnostics.
'StarWars The Phantom Mennace' wouldn't detect ANY video card at all before with the 6.1 installed.
I'm trying to playing my way through Quake 1. I did so much head to head back in the day it's nice to try the single player at 512x384 16bpp

So someone gave me another CRT monitor. It's off brand. May or may not work. I'm a gluten for these. I have to bring it home and give it a try.
Also still have a PII 400 sitting beside me waiting to be built. Weathr's getting colder. Might be time soon.
Also have a second motherboard that can take a Super Socket 7. I have an AMD K62 450. 384 megs ram and a Vodoo 1000 card.
Mid 90's 3DFx gaming hmmmmmm.

...and a P4 Dell single core 2005 PC just dropped in my lap along with a 17 no-name CRT monitor and some 5.1 cambridge soundworks speakers. $10.
I couldn't resist.

Tonight I'm watching a SONY 9" CRT with massive color purity issues off of a SHARP VHS playing Crocodile Dundee II while searching for a Compaq Proliant 6500 to install these 4 Pentium Pro 200/512k chips in and watching BattleStar Galactica OTA on a $19.00 thrift store TV it's not live but it's Memorex. AND AND 10 minutes ago I scored 29100 on Galaga on the Ms. Packman plug and play. I love that game!
Say, you guys ever consider I MAY have ADD?
