Hi,
I had a Sony D50 for over 10 years. Now I bought a G70 used and Installing it. Everything is working fine. I have a problem in Red lens only. When there is no picture, Red lens is glowing through entire raster. It is not very bright, you can see only if you look at he lens. The screen is still black. Once I turned off the projector, there is a bright red flash at the center of the screen for a second or few seconds. Blue and Green lens are perfectly fine. I checked the timer and the used time is 2,700 hours.
What is causing this problem.
Thanks!

It's tune contamination. Don't worry about it, it may get worse so that the red tube has to be changed, if you get visible red flickering in black images, but if not, then ignore the 'fireworks' at shutoff of the set. It won't damage the tube. Keep an eye out for another red tube though, down the road you might want to change it.
