I can afford a Radiance Pro now, but some questions:
1. Would this noticeably improve my Barco 909 and Pioneer LX800?
2. Are there going to be issues with HDCP? My current scaler will only output DVD source from the SDI input...
3. Would it allow me to play 1080p24 Blu Ray source material without judder on the panning shots?
4. Can it output 1080p72 and will the 909 display that?
5. If I get the auto-calibration package will that work well with the Barco?
6. Which Radiance and calibration package would be optimal?

"Noticeably improve" is an entirely subjective question that really has no answer. It really depends on the person, depends on what you're 'fixing' with the Radiance Pro, and so forth. If you want to get the most out of any display the Radiance Pro will certainly be the video processor to get you there. It is a true professional grade video processor which offers features that you can’t find anywhere else. Some of the notable features include:
- Built in Darbee image enhancement for a sharper more dynamic image. See before/after pics here: http://www.curtpalme.com/Darbee.shtm. This is also done on a per-input basis (so that you can, for example, have more enhancement on TV and less on Blu-ray). Some people like Darbee, some don't.
- Advanced calibration features including being able to automatically calibrate the display to up to 4913 points using ChromaPure Software and a meter. When done by hand people only calibrate to about 6 points so there’s often still a lot of inaccuracies. This is a giant step forward in terms of calibration accuracy as it not only allows to adjust the primaries and secondaries at the edges of the gamut boundary (100% saturation) but also compensates at thousands of points within the gamut (where most of the content we watch exists). This calibration is not something you can do by hand given the nearly 5000 points that need to be adjusted. It’s completely automated with ChromaPure software (so anyone can do it too actually - there’s no need to understand how calibration works). The Radiance then sits in the signal path permanently adjusting the image. Because it’s completely automated HT users are finding it quick/easy to do a calibration every few months as the bulb ages without having to call in (or pay for) a calibration specialist (though they’d only be doing it to 6 places anyway, not nearly 5000).
- 21 point Gamma adjustment to get perfect blacks - CRT is notorious for requiring a gamma boost, especially on the low end. If you’re not using something to bump the gamma today, this itself will make a big difference if you're having gamma issues. - 21 point greyscale adjustment
- Noise reduction (reduce grain and mosquito noise on bad sources)
- Detail enhancement
- Aspect ratio control (if you like to stretch the image depending on whether you’re watching 4x3, 16x9 or 2.35:1 content, or have masking or a motorized screen)
- Be able to switch/stream/direct/split content (ie: more than one TV).
- Dozens of other features...
Both the existing Radiance line and the newer Radiance Pro line offer all these features. The major difference is that the new Radiance Pro has 4K inputs/outputs.

The Radiance Pro is HDMI only. As long as your sources are all HDMI and you use either a Barco HDMI card or similar with your Barco CRT projector you'll be fine.

Yes, but no CRT projector can do 24 hz as even those that can sync that low would flicker like crazy. Some people did 48hz (double) but I found that still flickered. Some people didn't mind. 72Hz is better.

1080p72 output is supported by the Radiance Pro line as it supports up to 2160p60. The 909 can certainly sync and display to 1080p72 (it's pretty much the highest end CRT projector around, though some Sony and Marquee owners would disagree). 
909 specs:
Scan frequencies:
Horizontal: 30-180 kHz autolock
Vertical: 37-240 Hz autolock
Max. addressible display resolution: 3,200 x 2,560 Pixels

Yes.

Purchase whichever Radiance has the amount of inputs / outputs you need. That's basically the only difference between the various models. If you want to be a bit more future proof, consider the models with upgraded 18Ghz cards (instead of 9Ghz).
