How do you know which C-element you have? The reason I ask is, I picked up a set of C-elements from a unknown PJ.

For 9" sets, there is only one type of C element to the best of my knowledge. There were two different curvatures for the 8" types, depending on whether it was a front or rear projector.

I think the question here is how to decide if the green c-element is dark (normal) or light (sony)?

I'm pretty sure these C-elements came out of a Sony 1292. The guy I got them from did not remember which PJ he had disassembled. They are for a nine inch PJ and this guy had some left over boards from the PJ, which had Sony on them. He also had some HD-10F lenses.

It can be a bit difficult for me to be certain which green celement I have unless I look at the dark and light next to each other, or if it's in a projector I can measure it.
Sorry to add to the confusion, but I did part out two 1292's once that actually had medium darkness celements; their darkness was between the dark green and G90 green celements. They were more on the darker end, but definitely not as dark as true dark greens. I wound up selling them as "slightly darker celemeents" for like $20 each. If they are G90 celements they're worth about $20 because they are still better than clears for people with Marquee projectors that want to increase their color gamut, but not lose as much light output. If they are dark green they're worth about $125 each.
Post some of the board park numbers and we can probably tell you which projector they came out of. If they are 1292 than they are most likely dark green. The G90 and 1292 both used HD-10F lenses. All of the 1292's and early G90's used lenses with glossy black anodized aluminum housings. If the aluminum lens housings are matte black than they are definitely G90 as they were used on later G90's only.
Best,
craigr

The boards were not out of a G90, I'm pretty sure of that. He had a different looking YA board with no Dallas chip on it. And he did mention a clue, the PJ sounded like a hoover craft, from all the fan noise.
