H E L P !

I have owned a BARCO 1209 for the past 10 years without ever having any problem with it until now. For the last two months, after about 30 minutes of projecting a film the image switches off completely leaving the screen black (possibly standby mode?) but the fans continue working. We are able to switch it back on immediately but it switches off again in the same way after approximately 15 minutes, and so on with the projecting time getting shorter and shorter each time.

I have opened the casing and all other accesses flaps, cleaned all the ventilators and airways and they all work but the problem persists.

Would you be able to suggest anything please ? Smile

First things first, are there any red LEDs lit? Have you tried different sources?

Any arcing sounds?

Thanks for your time and answer.
There is only a green light on the left side of the plugs
I turn it on right now, it went off after 5 mn and the green is on
Where do I have to look for a red?

OK, read all about the 1209 on the main site:

http://www.curtpalme.com/Barco1208.shtm

There are two red lights to be concerned about: The SF one on the G2 board, and the EHT shutdown light on the EHT board. It's a bit hard to see, but you should be able to see where it is from the info above. When the picture goes out, I need to know whether the EHT or the SF red lights come on.

IN Barcos, green = good, red = bad.

You can ignore the vertical red light. Virtually guaranteed that the quad is bad. I have a bunch tested, email me at curtpalme@shaw.ca

Cheers!
