Hello.
I have a question: I bought a CineMax projector. It is in excellent condition with a runtime of 2600 hours. When checking with the seller, everything worked fine. I changed the location from the ceiling to the table and reset all settings to the middle position and reset the memory bank. After that, in the identification menu, it is called the BR909 and does not show its serial number.
What does it mean?
p.s.
Sorry for my english- i'm writing through google translate.

Welcome to the forum and congrats with your new purchase.
It doesn't have anything to do with the scan conversion, it means that the controller does not belong to the projector. It has been changed in the past with a spare part BarcoReality 909 controller. However, with the exception of the run hours not being genuine, there is no reason to be worry about. If the tubes are in good shape and the projector is working well, enjoy.

Thank!

I still do not understand much in terms of what is a controller? When I bought, I looked at the menu - there was indicated CineMax and the serial number, if I'm not mistaken. And I don’t have the IRIS item in the menu, although the board and the lens are in place. The tubes are in excellent condition, only on the green there is a minimum burn- sure that the running time is genuine.
Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to configure it - it is very difficult for me.

Controller board is the processor of the projector, the big card under the small one (iris controller) in your last picture. It is definitely not a Cinemax controller. Production of Cinemax was ceased in 2003 and the manufacturing date of your controller is July 2005. Again, no reason to worry. Same hardware, different software.
Check if the gray cable from the iris controller is also plugged into the lens-pcb, could be the reason you don't see the iris option in the menu.
Where are you located ?

I'm from Russia.
I checked the cable to the diaphragm - it is connected. Board IRIS is also in place.(Photo)
How did you determine the date of manufacture of the controller?

I don't think the ID of the projector can be changed, so I agree the controller/CPU board has been changed in the unit.

On the other hand, the software roughly matches the 2001 manufacturing date.

Regardless, download the manual from the main site if you don't already have it. It will probably take you 6 hours to set it up, but you will have a great picture once you are done.

On the right-upper corner, you can see a white stamp with "2805" on it. It means the controller was manufactured in week 28 of year 2005.
Ok, if the iris cable is not loose, must be the mini card that's connecting the iris board with the controller. From your picture, it looks like the card is not firmly pressed into the controller slot. Normally, it is secured with two screws on the underside of the drawer.

Thanks for the tips, I will try to configure. I bought a board Moome Barco-FullHD. I have a manual on paper.
If what I described is not a problem, I will deal with it further. My mistake was to reset past settings.

Another question: the projector is on the floor on a stand with a height of 15 cm. Is that enough or should it be raised higher? The bottom edge of the screen, with 45 cm from the floor.

There is nothing wrong you have done. Every start from scratch, involves deletion of previously stored memory-banks. And by doing so, no way the ID or serial number of the projector changes. If you saw the CineMax name and a serial number on the OSD, it means the former owner changed the controller before you picked up the machine.
About the right height: it depends on the screen size, aspect ratio and lens type (HFQ900 or HD120).
Just download the Barco Lens program from here, to determine the right spot.

I am sure that he could not replace the controller, he is a simple user like me. A chip Dallas can not reset the data after a long idle? I read somewhere that it is not eternal.

Well, than it could be that you've been mistaken by seeing CineMax logo and serial number on the ID menu ?
Doesn't matter, this controller is better anyway. It is a newer style R7631255 version (instead of R763125), which have beter software and runs less hot.
No such a thing like a Dallas chip on a Barco. Elecrohome Marquees uses that....

Yes, probably. When buying, it was important for me to see runtime, I could not pay attention to the rest.
I have a HFQ900 lens and a 4: 3 screen with dimensions of 203x270cm.
Sorry for the stupid questions))

Yep Gabor, that's what I meant. It proves I don't have experience with any projectors but Barco's 😀.
Thanks.

If you are running HDMI, I don't think you need any processor to start with. A lumagen scaler will add to the image quality, but until you have set up the projector, and have learned to do a full setup, I wouldn't complicate things with adding an external processor for now.
