Need to find a safer way to do this. Projector is "mounted" at an angle to properly hit screen. Is there a safer, easier way to reach this angle? I want something that has less chance of sliding and hitting someone. So far there have been no problems -- but I can't take the risk. Any thoughts?

I would build a wooden wedge, giving much more stable support than your brick hack. Then wrap ratchet straps around the projector and the top of the cart, so it's not going anywhere unless the cart tips over.
Or just build a better and more stable mounting table.
Is there a reason why you don't want to hang it from the ceiling, the way it's designed to be used?

Ive had mine on a cart like that but custom built out of wood. I put a wooden strip at the front to prevent the projector from sliding off the front. Been sitting there for 11 years.
Here's a picture with my 1252 on it. It now has the Ampro 4000 on it.

EDIT: A strap would be good too. Is that cart you have it on made of hollow plastic?

Finally got a mount, thanks to my brother in law. Made of wood, painted black, 7 1/2 inches high in the back. Had to use another 1inch board to get perfect aim to screen. Will cut a smaller block and paint. Much more stable than before. The PJ actually sits on the mount, reducing chances of sliding. Now for a safety strap and a buffer in the front. Should be party proof.

Enough about the stand, how can you live with those screen wrinkles?
Is it Dalite HP screen material?

Doesn't look like it. HP wouldn't show shadows like that. I agree with Haydn, you need to do something about those wrinkles. If it's no-gain material (gain = 1.0 or less) they might not be fatal, but if it has any gain to it, I would think those ripples would drive you bonkers.

If you have to have a pull down get a tab tensioned screen.

Lol, I remember buying that screen with wrinkles. Think that screen has had it's day and needs to be listed online tonight.
