Hi,

This is not exactly a CRT projector problem, but I hoped someone could help me anyway or put this
in the correct forum

I have an old machine with a CRT monochrome monitor. The circuit for the vertical deflection is bad
because I only see a green line on the black background. The green line changes when I press buttons
on the machine so there is a video signal trying to display my actions.

There is also a mini coaxial monitor output on the "graphics board" where I should be able to connect
an external monitor. I think the signal is 15.75kHz and I wonder what kind of monitor I could connect to
that signal. I have old multisync VGA CRT monitor, some old tv-monitor and maybe I can dig up something
else if necessary.

I also wonder that kind of cable/adapter I need to create to connect the monitor.

I think the machine is trying to display an error code and I would like to know that error code.

Any help would be very appreciated.

You need an old composite video monitor. Most later model old CRT TVs had a video input, or an old CRT security TV monitor would work fine. I agree though, get the V deflection working and it should come back to life. Change the vertical chip, and all the electrolytic capacitors in the vertical section to start with.

If you have a projector that runs 15khz and takes sync on green, just cable that to green.

You could probably hook that output up to any old TV with a composite video input as well (although the picture won't be as sharp on a color set).
