Any 3 volt lithium battery will work, not sure if the originals are still available.

If you get a battery in there, even a retrofit the projector may start behaving normally. I remember a guy a few years back that went through that.

Some thing like one of these with some leads soldered to it: https://www.radioshack.com/products/radioshack-cr2032-battery-holder
