I have a set of 3 new G70 tubes and a new fast phosphorous green tube. Complete with C-element housings as sold by Sony. Ready to go. I bought the green tube directly from Sony years ago (over $900). Most if not all are in Sony factory boxes with factory packing. I'll have to dig them out to verify.

And I have bunch of G70 boards and a G90 remote and I think a G70 remote.

I'm sure the tubes will bring enough money to make it worth the effort to sell them.

G70 tubes in new condition are scarce as hen's teeth. And some people happen to like their G70 and wish for new tubes.

Just offer them for sale, or list them on ebay, or both.

The biggest thing is of course to ensure that they are packed very carefully so they survive shipment.

That means lots of supportive cushioning foam and preferrably, double boxing.

At least $600 for a new set with standard green phosphor.

The P43 green is anybody's guess. Could be between $100-$400 IMHO.

Thank you for taking the time to respond, CJ, but I already knew all of that. And you didn't answer the one question I ask. But thanks anyway.

Thanks, Craig. I do appreciate it.

I had other motives for posting this other than finding the value of the tubes. I also wanted to gauge interest and see what kind of offers I got. I haven't gotten any. I guess that answers my question. Laughing

Curt warned me that 8" PJs and parts are dead. I should have listened.

Well, I KNOW there are some people who are still interested in keeping and even retubing their G70s.

I sent a message to the guy who ended up with my G70. Maybe he'll make you an offer.

Just trying to be somewhat helpful.

I described you as a reliable and honest seller.

Thumbs Up

Thanks, I do appreciate that CJ. He contacted me and I sent him a message.

Dan, I've had some bad experiences shipping overseas. I'd prefer to find someone in the lower 48. I REALLY would like to find someone local so I don't have to ship at all, but that's probably not going to happen.

Ok no problems, the tubes I bought off eBay I was worried about that but the guy
Was a genuine genius he cut poly styrene in sort of a support building that made sure
The three complete with c elements couldn't move even though he put all 3 in the one box !
If you change your mind I can take photos of the packaging design he used 2" think sheets
With wholes cut in for necks and then used more around a sides no no movement up or down
I think he must have shipped tubes for a living it was that well packed.
So if you change your mind they are still in the box I can send photos

Thanks dan

You mean something like this?

Not shown: Three inches of top foam in two layers.

This is pretty much a foolproof method of shipping up to three bare tubes.

Plenty of padding, some room to move to dissipate shock, good space between the tubes and the sides of the box
for protection against possible box punctures.

Even more secure ! Wish I had photos to post but there in my parents garage not at my house so can't go take but
It was amazingly brilliant way where by even with the c elements and houseing it was safe unless ran over my a truck
I was amazed I was dreading opening in case they hadn't survived but they
Hadn't moved a inch !

Thanks dan

My problems with international shipping wasn't damage, it was shipments getting tied up in customs or taking a lot longer to arrive than it was suppose to. Understandably the buyer would get concerned. I just don't want to deal with that kind of crap.

I think I have them sold to CJ's customer, who is local. I won't have to ship them at all. Thanks again, CJ!

Well the local guy didn't come through. Back up for sale. 4 brand new tubes in factory boxes (if I remember correctly), a G90 remote and a ton of parts. $600, local pick up.
