Iīm using Barco 1209 and Lumagen XS and moome ext hd v3.

I recently bought an X-Rite EyeOne Display 3. After a couple of trials and errors I managed to set up a two point greyscale (80 and 30) using HCFR which resulted in a really good video image. After that I used autocalibration and chose 21 points greyscale, gamma and LUT. The result was not good at all and the image looked very artificial. So I reseted the Lumagen to factory settings.

Is autocalibration supposed to be used with CRT projectors? If it is, should the greyscale points, gamma colors etc. be limitied or how is it supposed to be setup? I red that some users was very happy with the results after autocalibration but I couldnīt see if the where using CRT PJ.

I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere but I could not find any information.

Thanks

Murillo

Yes. It can be used with any display technology.

Make sure to choose the correct colourspace and set up the initial autocal settings before starting. For support, you can contact support@chromapure.com with your equipment info and your calibration report and they can assist. Good luck!

No, you shouldn't use autocal with a CRT. Craig Rounds explained it awhile back. Look for his post on the subject.

You can use autocal with crt, but given how crt tends to have fairly linear (correct) response at varying levels of saturation, the question is really how useful is it? See this link where Craig mentions "There is no benefit to more than six points on a CMS with CRT.":
