A short across a MOSFET is a bad thing. I just fixed a Sony LED Smart TV with the same problem. Remove those, check out of circuit, and replace them if shorted. The Sony has been been working fine all weekend.

Open with MOSFETS is OK, I'd suspect that it works. MOSFETs don't usually blow open, they short out like transistors when they are bad.

Thanks;out of the circuit shouldn't they measure some resistance between the pins ?

BEtween two of them, yes, you should get a diode effect, but only if your meter has enough current to trigger the diode internally.

I have A Dm Fluke 87 and check it with diode and between all the 3 pins shows nothing.

Hi gus is my IC 150 STR W6053N bad? i checked that STR W6053N out of circuit and measurement results=
+Probe pin 1 - probe pins 3,4,5,6,7=OL
- probe pin1 + probe pin3=520ohms
- ^ ^ 1 + ^ ^ 4=2Mg
- ^ ^ 1 + ^ ^ 5=0.700Mg
- ^ ^ 1 + ^ ^ 6=1.5Mg
- ^ ^ 1 + ^ ^ 7=OL
Is this bad or good ? thanks
I took the example how to check the STR from this video, the only difference is his STR measures resistance on the pins with Positive probe on pin 1 ,probe negative pin 3,4,5,6,7 and reversing probes he has nothing, mine is the other way around i get OL if i put Positive Probe on pin 1 and negative probe 3,4,5,6,7. and if i put Negative probe on pin 1 and positive probe on 3,4,5,6,7 i get the results on my test above.

You can't test a part like that short of replacement.
WHy do you think that every semiconductor is defective in this set? That's like assuming the entire electrical system of your car needs replacing when one headlight is burned out. You found two shorted MOSFETs. Get those in, replace them and see if the set turns on. Short of a lightning strike, it's basically impossible for a whole bunch of random transistors to be blown.

Thanks Curt Palme;i have good news; my Vizio E321VL is up and running, the following components were used to make the repair;F601,Q602 Mosfet KN8N60,IC150 STR W6053N, Q606,Q607 Mosfes KF5N50.
Note the replacement for the SM mosfet KF5N50 Q606,Q607 were T220 cases instead of the SM so i had to adapt them to the bottom of the board, see link Attach.
I think the Q602 Mosfet KN8N60, and IC150 STR W6053N,are good but since i had them out and had the New repair kit i went ahead and replaced those and kept the old ones for future repairs. Thanks for all your help on this, appreciate.

Hi guys;today i decided to reopen my Vizio E321VL since the mosfets heating issue kept bugging me,and when something is bugging me i keep thinking on it and never stop till a fix it otherwise i don't sleep well,he.he,he.. i did check the temperature with my Fluke for about 5 minute with tv running to the existing mosfets without the heat sink, and it went up to 60C*,
So story short i had 2 extra KF5N50 TO220 mosfets and a few Heat Sinks in my scrap,
i made 3 holes in the board in each one,and the end result was this see pics.
