I've encountered a Barco 808 I can get my hands on for a fair price. Tubes are worn.
I've got a set of 909 LC hardware. I've got new LUG tubes. I can certainly handle installing the tubes into the hardware,
transferring the magnetics, etc.
What would I need, outside of these items, to convert an 808 to a 909? Any chassis changes needed?
I know Marquees very well indeed and I'm experienced with G90s as well but I've never had a Barco and
I have made it a mission to obtain a 909 so I can compare all the top gun CRT projectors for myself.

The 909 is a totally different animal from an 808, so to turn an 808 into a 909 is impossible. Even the chassis is 3" wider or so.

You will need a new frame. The 909 is wider. You will also need a full set of boards including the mother board or main chassis board.
You could make an 809 but you would need a new chassis to start with.

OK, thanks. Idea abandoned because I don't need another 8" machine.
However, if someone has a 909 in need of tubes, or even missing the tube assemblies entirely, I'd be interested in that at the right price.
