Hello Community,

My name is Kevin and I'm a compleete newbie to CRT Projectors.
I recently bought a good (4096h) [good in my eyes] Sony VPH 1252 with a projection screen and cables for 100 Euros.
After I've done the Spring mod to be able to adjust the R and G tubes how i need them.
After I was done, the R and G tubes didn't work... Looked in the manual. Checked the PCB
behind the tubes both loose. Stuck them back in, tubes working again...
Few hours later I try to adjust the tubes how they should be and have to find out,
that the B tube wont turn on... I've look at every possible cable I could find but that thing wont turn on.

Any ideas what could be the cause?

Greetings,

Kevin

Being careful to avoid posssible shock hazards, and with the projector OFF and unplugged, check the anode leads and make sure
they are securely connected to the anode splitter block.

And then try exchanging the neck cards between the blue tube and one other tube.

Also be sure every cable is plugged into the video card. Match them up one for one.

I'm not familiar with the details of the 1252 but all CRT projectors share certain similarities.

You can't do that on the 1252.. actually you can, but other than the socket, there's no parts on the neck board.

Three possibilities:
1) you missed connecting a wire somewhere- if it worked before you got into it, that's the most likely.
2) you bent a CRT pin when putting the blue tube socket on- also very possible.
3) THe blue video amplifier board is bad- unlikely, because it worked before you got into it.
