I'm looking at a used studiotek 130 and was wondering what a fair price would be. I know projection has changed a lot and a 1.3 gain screen might not be as desirable with the newer light cannons of today. Also is 110 a desirable size or is it on the small size for most home theatre enthusiasts today.

I know there's a lot of variables to consider but am hopping for a general idea.

I just don't want to overpay for something that is no longer consider
Desirable.

Thanks

This is the best screen in the industry and the most broadly divers; meaning it will work well with almost any projector. You won't be sorry if you buy the screen.

Well you could try. Offer $300 without the pj. But I would buy it quick.

Bite the bullet, pull the trigger, turn the key, pull the lawn mower, cut out the fore play and swing the club.

CRT is awesome! Having a 10 year old 1080p LCD projector around can be handy. Take it out side for a summer movie night. Use it at Halloween. Hold a door open with it. Have some fun or sell it off.
BUT GET THAT SCREEN! Perfect for CRT. Smile

Well, I was out played. Someone tempted the seller with more money. Lost out over $75. Moral.... don't count your chickens before they hatch. Lol.

Ok, it looks like we are back on. The original sale was for both vw100 and screen and the seller only sold the projector. I'm picked up the screen for $300 so I'm pretty happy. Waste that much intrested in a old Xeon projector with bulbs costing what they do. Plus it might make me lazy.

Anyone have suggestions on rolling the screen. Should I buy a bed sheets to role up on?. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You can just roll it up. However, be careful about where the end roll snaps contact the screen. The snaps can leave a mark on the screen. Put a couple layers of some tissue paper in there.

Enjoy!

Go to either a bridal supply or industrial paper place and get some acid free tissue paper. Roll up the screen with a few layers or tissue paper around the snaps. Wrap the ends and outsides of the screen in tissue paper before putting it in the box. Cardboard is highly acidic. I've owned screens that have yellowed in storage from being in contact with the card board. Also use scotch brand invisible tape - acid free - green plaid packaging to secure the tissue if needed.

That being said if you do not intend to keep it in long term storage don't worry as much about a full wrap. Concentrate on the ends.

Thanks guys. It will only be to transport, then back in the frame. I will try and source some tissue paper without coloring to cushion the snaps. Hope I don't f it up.

You are one lucky SOB to grab that screen at that price. Of all the mods I've done updating my screen last year with 1.3 G3 was the single biggest improvement. Stewart really is at the head of the class and finding good deals on screens is much harder than on PJ's.

I am glad to be in an area that has a lot of people. This makes looking for deals relatively easy. I am also not afraid to get in my car and drive a few hundred miles to get a good deal. I think I've been looking for a good screen for a few years but haven't pulled the trigger. With a little help from the people on this board I finally did. So thanks again guys!!!! After getting it setup in the temp location (theater still not done) I did notice a couple marks but nothing that can be seen from viewing distance. I think it was worth the $300 I spent. Now to get my G90 dialed in. I am thinking there are some problems lurking inside but will keep you guys posted.
