Posting this for a customer. Sold him a G90 and he ordered a Moome card, and told me that his pix via composite was better than the HDMI card. I questioned him, and he sent me a pix, so now I understand. Thumbs Up

He's run a short 6' HDMI cable and tried a longer one, the pix is washed out and pinkish. I know there are Moome commands via the remote, but I know you can also lose the signal. IS the card bad, or can he correct something via the remote?

Two HDMI cables, two sources show similar images.

Thanks!

Hit the 5, 6, or 7 button on the Moome remote.

This looks like he's running YCbCr 4:4:4 on the player but the Moome card is set to 4:2:2 instead, or vice versa.

The 5, 6, and 7 buttons set the color space on the Moome card.

You'll get a picture but the colors will be utterly daft if the settings don't match.

Been there, done that, learned it the hard way. With a G90 with Moome card.

I recommend getting one of those HDMI splitters that strips HDCP. Get one and sell it to him for double!

I believed the color space setting from the source and Moome card does not match. Try and ask him to select the correct setting of the color space on the Moome by pressing the number button as shown (4 auto etc...) point the Moome remote to the input card please.

Ask him what the model number of his sources are. Maybe we can help him get the correct color space between the two.

It's got to be a mismatch between the output format and the format chosen at the card.

By choosing the incorrect format (4:4:4 or 4:4:2 or whatever) I can also get a pink picture.

Your customer has his source configured incorrectly. I'd bet money on it.

+1

Or he has a bad BA board, but I bet it
s a color space thing.

Craig

Curt told me to email you this question on my G90 I have a washed out High def pic with moome card and HD input. In my input setting I cannot adjust 3 items Curt thinks that should be adjustable to clear the pic problem They are Clamp, Sync Route, and Video Loc. I am in service man mode but not able to adjust these 3. Can you help? Or do you have other thoughts on the problem?

Regards Bob

THe set came from me about 6 months ago, everything worked fine here, but it did sit at his place for a bit. I can't figure out why some of his sync menu page items are greyed out (can't adjust them). I wanted him to take the clamp and sync route out of 'auto' as that can cause issues too, but he can't access them.

AS stated above, his Moome card tested fine in a G90 here when he sent it back. Worst case I send down a BA board and maybe a Ya board, but I'm not yet convinced that they are the problem.
