Does anyone know if a PWC-4010 video decoder board will work in a 9PG? It works fine with a PWC-3683, but the PWC-4010 just displays a blank raster. I'd rather use the 4010 because it has a digital comb filter. I've gone over the board looking for problems, but found nothing obvious.
Obviously I rarely use the composite input, but since I have the better board on hand I'd like to put it in if will can work.

As I see the PWC-4010 has a slightly different pinout from PWC-3683. This is actualy very interesting since the service manual say the PWC-4010 is for the PG6200G/9200G (6/9 PG Xtra 220-240V model), but the PG-6200/9200 (6/9 PG xtra 110-120V model) would still use the PWC-3683.
Perhaps you could use both in the newer machines, but not the other way around...

The only difference I noticed that could be a deal breaker is that the 4010 uses I2C to control the color and tint, but the 3683 uses analog control signals. I imagine that if the firmware for the PG-9000 doesn't support this, there would be problems.
I traced the video signal through the 4010 board up to the input of the TA8880CN video decoder IC. It only outputs black video on the RGB outputs. There's valid sync and blanking, just no video. It may just be that the TA8880CN isn't being configured, but I thought I'd ask before I spend any more time on this.
