|
|
Dear forum members
First of all Merry Christmas too all.
I have a DVDO iScan VP50 (connected to a Barco 919) and the last 3 years I have not used it very much (4-5 time a year). No I have a little sparetime and have stated using it again.
The problem is that after approx 15-20 minutes the picture turns off. I use the HDMI output of the DVDO connected to a MOOME HDCP box. If I connect the Barco directly to the DVD player then the picture works fine again (in lower res. of course) ... so I think the problem is with the DVDO. My theory is that something in the DVDO runs hot and then the output turns off ... the DVDO is still on and the display on it works fine (I can move around in the menus on its display).
Is this some that can be fixed? and ideas? or is the DVDO at the end of its lifecycle?
Any ideas is greatly appreciated and thank you Curt for a great forum!
Cheers,
Flemming

Could be the power pack. They do fail often. You can pick them up for around $30.
If you tech minded you could try re-capping it.

What Greg said, Change the power supply. If that's not it, then it's a throwaway I'm afraid.

If the power pack doesn't fix it let me know. I repaired a vp30 a couple of years ago by replacing the main HDMI output chip. Happy to have a look at it it you want.

Dear Greg and Curt
Thanks for tips re the PS for the DVDO VP50.
I got a new one but it didn't work ... so I started looking at the Moome "Multi-Input Transcoder DVI/Component to VGA" (from 2006). It seams like when it has been running for about 20min it gets to hot and the picture disapears. I tried spraying it with some cooling fluid when the picture startet flickering and the flickering stops ! I tried changing the PS for the moose box but it didn't help.
Can it be repaired and what is the cost of a new one (or similar)?
Thanks guys
Happy New Year !
Cheers
Flemming

That's a question for Moome. You can email him at moome@curtpalme.com.
Good luck!

You could just grab a Moome Barco internal card. They do work better than any other option.

Tanks to all for your advice !
I have contacted Moome and asked if the box can be repaired otherwise I will go for the FullHD internal card.
