hi,

since 2 weeks I have noticed something like a spotburn one the red tube when switch down my G70.

It looks like the youtube video I attach.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lv8JBojToE

Is there something I can do to fix it?

Regards

It's contamination in the tube. the 'firework' isn't strong enough to burn the tube, so don't worry about it. If you can't see low level flickering on the screen at black levels, then don't worry about it.

Hi,

thank you for your answer.

It`s good to hear. During watching movies I can`t see nothing on the screen at black levels.

Hi,

the red tube is running for years without problems. Now, the blue tube is having the same spotburn. A bit larger than the red years ago and I see low level flickering on the screen at black levels.

What can I do?

Best Regards

Change the tube to cure it, otherwise you'll have to live with it.

Hi,

do I have to change all three tubes or only the blue one?

Only change the tube with a problem. WHY would you change out tubes that are OK?

You'll have to recalibrate. But only the one tube.

Curt, thanks for that info about this weird spotkill issue. I have one new tube that has the same issue and I was concerned
that it was going to spotburn. Not so worried about it now.

it's NOT spot-burn.

It's contamination on the electron gun , also called "secondary emissions" because it happens after the beam is shut off by the spot kill circuitry.
