15 hours drive, yeah Fug that. I mean 2 working machines + DVI input + ceiling brackets is sweet but .......

I've seen plenty of freebies down in the south pop over the years as well, just have to be patient..

Agreed. We're expecting another child and I have to save up my vacation time. I cannot afford to throw any away at this point. Also - I can't just leave my wife to watch the other children while I go out and feed my addiction, er... Hobby. Very Happy

Thanks - I'll keep this in mind. I also have a buddy of mine who may be willing to sell his old Mitsubishi rear pro 73-inch set. I have an HD Fury 2 that would probably work well with it. Those sets had 9-inch tubes. But then again... I'd have to do all kinds of work calibrating and cleaning it just to take care of its inherent weaknesses against front-projector CRT's. As much as rear-projection CRT can look good, it's just nowhere near my GDM CRT monitors - which is what I want from the projectors.

^ I have a 65 mits in my workshop and love the thing

Yes it has the 7 inch tubes but from the picture quality you couldn't tell it(I cleaned it in no time and it now looks like new aside from where the previous owner's cat sctrached the speaker grille(no biggie given the tubes are near mint)

The larger set did have the 9 inch guns in it(yes I wish mine did)

Worth it

Ended up acquiring two Sony G70's from a member here in Missouri. One functions perfectly but has some tube wear. Other one does not function perfectly, but from what I can tell have very little to no tube wear. The one with tube wear is worn at the 16:9 level, so I'll have to scratch going 4:3 screen (and yes - even with the tube wear, it's VERY useable!) All in all, very excited. However, it will take me some time before I get this all setup. We have some other house projects that need to be tended to first.
