There are but they won't do it anymore. The former Barco UK installer will only help me because we are good friends.

Seven, in fact. Three big ones on the rear, two smaller in front and a tiny one mounted on the PFC board.

I was thinking about if it was worth modding the cooling system of the 909 with the fan controller i develloped.
The fully digital individual temperature controlled linear thing i wrote about in the other thread.
It has 6 channels, but you could connect two fans two one channel.
If there is interest, let me know.
Regards, Julian

This is my only gripe with the 909s, bloody fan noise, I have mine sealed in a huge hush box which diminishes the noise but man its a pain in the ass to get to them when the quads go. I'd jump on a couple of cine 9's in a heart beat if they came up to replace these.

Dave

Isn't fan speed determined by firmware? There have been a few discussions on this matter and I believe the consensus is that fan speed doesn't require any new hardware just the right firmware.

So this should be just a matter of flashing with the right firmware. Thumbs Up

Thanks Keith

Hows your conversion going with those chassis?

Dave

I have built one 809 and I am using that set. I really don't like the barco LC lens flapping though, its not as precise as the G90. I am thinking of putting the G90 LC setup in the 809 but thats a cut and paste exercise. Laughing

I ask because the SEMU board is still mounted in the 909 tray.

Has anyone seen a Cine9 with a SEMU board running ?

I removed the SEMU board and flashed the 919 with Cine 9 firmware. Not sure if the firmware supports SEMU or not.

I did and it's good, no need to modify anymore. This week I've seen a 2.5 hundred thousand home cinema with a awfull looking digital Sony pj so I'm fine as is. Just take all semu sh*t out no need for that. It runs with your current software version. Why risk distroying your controller with cine9 sw. Plus with your current sw you can go higher resolution.

@Francisco: Thanks. You are running the Barco 909 firmware ?

Anyone tried a Cine9 controller (controller only and not the whole tray) in a BR909 or BR909
split pack?

cheers

It must be the missing fan controller boards because the controller runs in a Cine9 chassis/tray.

A short update.

I put the controller back into a BR909 chassis but this time i connected also the SEMU board which was connected before i flushed it.

Guess what !

Projector starts and the middle fan in the back is offline (like it should on a Cine9). Also access to the menu Thumbs Up
