I got this one at thrift back in January for $25. It was in the auction and was as is untested. I took a chance and fak me it works!
This had a neat look to it, reminding me of the old Mavica floppy disk digital cameras. According to what I read this was never sold here in North America. Fortunately it has a universal 100-240 volt power supply. US style prongs, old school, not polarized.
(pics to follow as soon as GIMP cooperates.)

I did a little searching and it appears Sony did sale a camera like that here but under a different model number
Does the pics in this manual look like your camera?

Yes it does. Good find! However that one is only 8mm not Hi8. Wonder if they had other NorthAmerican models like those in Hi8?
I know you collect old junk vintage equipment. Pull something out and post about it.

I think they did but the weird thing is the model number of yours shows up as a wall charger via Google (weird but true)
I have that vintage rca rear projection tv I may post a few pics of it now that I have it set up and running(we both know how old that beast is haha) or my 80's vintage Maggie's
I have a lot of vintage gear aside from my projectors
