Decided to cancel the cable since I literally don't watch it at ALL. So I want to make the switch to a streaming media box of some sort.

What's currently the "best" one in terms of functionality, features, quality, etc...? I never got into these since I use a HTPC for the theater, but wouldn't mind having a streaming box for a couple of the TV's

Also are there any of these that can do live streamed TV? Any advice is appreciated!

Really depends what you like to watch. Netflix is a popular choice and the app (software) is available for freeon just about any platform today including PS3, PS4, Xbox, AppleTV, ChromeCast, AmazonFire, you name it. Complete list here:

SmartTVs have it already built in as do many Blu-ray players. You can also watch on your PC so nothing extra required.

Thanks for the links Kal!

As far as smart TVs go, I have one in my bedroom, but the reason I'm searching for a streaming box is because the 2 TVs I had cable on, are both CRT Very Happy . One's a Sony KD-34XBR970 and the other is a Pioneer Elite rear projection HDTV. The Sony has HDMI, and I use a HD Fury for the Pioneer since it has VGA which works nicely with the HD Fury Gamer.

I'm actually looking to use Hulu plus on the box. I have a Sony Google TV NSZ-GS7 but unfortunately it appears that's not very supported anymore. (Flash wont update on it anymore)

I was actually looking at the ASUS Google Nexus player, a Roku, or even an Amazon Fire Stick. Anyone have experience with the nexus player & Amazon Fire? I know what the Roku is all about, but just want to make sure I'm not missing much on the other two devices. Smile
