Absolutely, my screen made the image quality 200% better with the Barco, mostly due to the convergence being achievable on the perfect flat surface where it was not on the wall, due to the inferior fine adjustment.

The NEC didnt suffer that, but image quality is still much improved, contrast ratio is better, the lines are sharper, and its overall brighter.

The screen would certainly make a blend zone easier to align and maintain, being that if installed correctly, itll be dead flat corner to corner, which is pretty important with a Barco ( and probably anything else thats not an NEC )

Yes that studiotek 1.3 screen is appealing to me too because it seems to have a 1.3 in direct angle and from the side it reflects less.
http://stewartfilmscreen.com/screen-materials/flexible-front-projection/studiotek-130-g3

I read:
Edge Blending Properties Fair

Why is that?

He that is funny the 1.0 gain has the best edge blending properties. Guess I am going for my painters cloth Wink

Ok this is what I will probable do.

I will make a screen from linen form the artpainter shop. I use that in my HT now and it is perfect and very strong. I will need something close to 270 cm x 150 cm so I can transport the whole screen to my darkened HT later.

http://www.petervanginkel.nl/cat/341/schilderdoek-op-rol

Costs likely close to 60 euro. But I will need the spantang for 50 euro and I will staple the cloth to a frame.

If you are serious about screens, you will think about higher gains at some point.
I know they tell you that only gain 1 is good for blending and since my setup is not finished
i can't tell you if it will work with two projectors, but i would really wonder if not.
My material is even cheaper and fits your size requirements.
http://www.stoffamstueck.de/shop/themen2/technische-gewebe-zeltstoff/polyester-leinwand-silber-beschichtet.html
This is what i use in 315x170cm and (with a single projector setup) it looks very good.
Colors and contrast are far better than on a white screen!
Try it, you probably won't be disappointed. And keep in mind, that you can use every 3D system on silver screens.
They're not only good for polarisation. The key is to get the most light back from the screen to your eyes or glasses.
I'd build a curved setup about 5% (5% means 13,5cm depth in the middle). Building a curve isn't much more work than
building a flat surface. Building the torus was a real disaster (in my case) but curved is easy.
If you are interested, i can send you some pics of my screen.
Regards, Julian

That looks very interesting. Is it possible you send me a very small part of this material at my costs? I send my email to you in pm. I could do some measurements with my i1pro to see how it compares.

On this place I did some measurements on linen.
http://www.htforum.nl/yabbse/index.php?topic=128693.25

It reflected almost like a 1.3 gain screen.

Oh i like that language! It's kind of readable for German people with some imagination.
Sure i will send you some piece of this stuff.
That is kind of interesting for me, too.
I don't know what gain factor it is, just did some fast testing with polarisation glasses.
And using those, it worked quiet good. You know.. i don't plan to use polarisation, but i could!

Regards, Julian

So this one has perfect LUG tubes now. No 90 degrees and no pt22.

Tested a lot of components to find the quietest solution and it turns out they all are quiet. The Cinemax is not quieter than the others I found out.

Next thing will not be the screen or the blending but the video path.

I will work on the schematics trying to find solutions for better parts but first we have to know where the performance problems are exactly. We are working on that problem. I am sending boards abroad Smile

Still have to make me a screen.

Yes something like 2.40.

I want to get a sample of screeninnovations blackdiamond material. See if it is something for me.

This would be my setup if i will ever realize it Mr. Green

Screen = 3,32m x 1,38m in cinemascope

2 x BR909/Cine9

Each of the projectors would project on a screen of 1,84m x 1,38m (4:3)

So i'll have an edge blend zone of 36 cm in the middle of screen.

cheers
ElTopo

I still have those. So each of the tv ones could go for example with 1064 x 800@ 72Hz

Saves bandwidth on each projector and increase sharpness.

Well i still miss a single HD10L lens or a complete set to do the setup.

But also do not forget the brightness you'll have with two projectors !!!!! Thumbs Up

Yes true cinemascope is the way to go. The contrast will be twice and the Cine 9 does resolve that resolution almost perfect so you get almost UHD quality. The phosphor use will also be more even square i think that also give more light.

I have a GT17 set of lenses that I do not use anymore. Can you use those?

Thanks for the offer but GT17 are not working with that screen size.

GT17 start at a screen size of 2m in width.

I need HD10L for the blend.
