OK boys....new concept here. My wife is forcing me to give up one of my basement rooms for a family room. Either the man cave goes(not a chance in HELL!!!!) or the unfinished home theater room which was only in planning phases. I love my mancave. I need my mancave. The decor mixed with the unfinished caveish look gives me my zen. So I have to come up with a transformation to implement a nice theater element. I have some decent bones to work with. I will move the large sectional couch to the new family room with my foosball and rodhockey tables both going into a smaller open room that is adjacent to the mancave. I will leave my wall decor, fish tank, and plasma right where it is. I plan to add drywall to close off a few spots, put down thin charcoal carpeting, add my sound system, mount my projector, add a few canned lights. I want to mount my screen to where it will flip up and down. Drop down is not in the plan as this is a High Power model by Da-lite and it's nice. For theater effect I can order some custom industrial blackout curtains to go all of the way around the room for theater time. This will include trim to cover the rails and go along the bottom for a visual effect. It's not the ideal situation but the kids are fighting like cats and dogs with only the living room to share. I have to make this work. Input Gents.........

I would like to suggest the following options:
1. Freestanding utility shack in which spouse/kids can treat as a family room.
2. Divorce.
