Hi I have bought the housing of a Barco 919 split pack from Seos.

I have put all the parts of my Cine Max into this housing.

The new 909 splitpack starts ok and all leds are green. However it only reacts on the internal remote. It does however say projector adress : 1.

Now it seems that as long as i keep pressing buttons on the internal remote the Barco stays responding. But as soon as i stop for a few seconds the Barco does not respond at all anymore. It seems that when the Barco searches for a IR remote it hangs.

So I guess somehow the motherboard of the Seos is changed with respect to the remote?

I did replace the rs232 board with no succes and there are no other IR remote sensors. I also disconnected the remote wire that goes to the Head unit.

So my question is does someone know what Seos might have done?

I disconnected the internal remote and only the internal rs232 board is still connected that I replaced yesterday. Now I start the Barco and it reacts on the ir remote with no problems!

It is easy to experiment with the video chain when it is on the floor. I have limited space available. Also I have an attic where I can place it with the CRT's on the ceiling. That way you can make it completely silent with the cable through the ceiling. I have seen this at Francisco's place his CRT is completely inaudible. It also looks much smaller with only the CRT's on the ceiling.

How long is the connection cable between the two units ?

I also did several swaps between a Cine9 and 909. No problem at all.

One of the things I liked in the 909 was the enormous amount of light it produced with the LUG tubes. I allways had the boost on in its lowest. It gave some extra punch. I know the 9500 becomes a little lighter at 72 Hz but something in my setup makes it not work yet.

Also without doubt the 9 series is almost without noise. The 9500 has more noise but that can be modded but still the 909 had less. The ansi contrast on the modded 9500 is however very beautifull in the colours at the darker scenes. At present I like the 9500 more in dark scenes and the 909 more in light scenes where noise and punch rule.

Well I have them both Very Happy

I found the Marquee always too dark > 2,5 m in width.

I have my sunglasses on with LUG's Mr. Green

Yes! What I also see is that lately many people are repairing the 909 series. They used to say that the 909 series was very difficult to repair and was some kind of an unstable monster. Now we see they repair just like all the other CRT's and parts are even plenty available. So there goes that myth Wink
