Im not stating that it wont rival it in picture quality for movies, im saying its an inferior machine in many other rather dissapointing ways.
In terms of capability the convergence is the first an biggest point id like to make, again, and a lowly PG is MILES ahead of even the Cine 9 in every aspect of geometry and convergence, so naturally the XG smokes it too.
Convergence is everything, geometry is extremely important, i dont like seeing things change size as the pan across the screen, i hate seeing little gaps at the edges or sections over the edges of the screen, and in many cases with a Barco that is simply unavoidable, where as with an NEC it is never an issue. Accurate convergence adds to sharpness. The adjustment steps are far too coarse, meaning perfect geometry cant always be had.
Then there is blooming.... Never had that issue on my XG, and although its minimal on the Cine 9, its still unacceptable for such a machine.
