Hey guys

I just parted out a Marquee 8500 Ultra(TAN), would like to know if anyone would like to buy
the parts. Make an offer, any offer Very Happy

- Focus board
- Deflection board
- 3 x Neck board NOW GONE!
- 2 x LVPS
- Moome HDMI (2007)
- Acon + module
- 2 x remote
- A couple of contrast modulation boards(not in image)
- the three boards from the back grill
- VIM

So, what you see in the picture of all the parts + a couple of contrast-modules, the control board.

Would not cost a lot to ship if sold without the LVPS' Smile

I'll ship anywhere!

Hi,

I'm interested in some of the parts (e.g. Neck boards, HDM, FGM, LVPS etc.).
Where are You located and are these all of the parts?

Regards,

Hi guys, thanks for your posts + PMs

I really have no idea what these parts are worth....I know it is not kosher, but you will need
to make the offer Smile

There is:

- Focus board
- Deflection board
- 3 x Neck board
- 2x LVPS
- Moome HDMI (2007)
- Acon + module
- 2 x remote
- A couple of contrast modulation boards(not in image)
- the three boards from the back grill
- VIM

So, what you see in the picture of all the parts + a couple of contrast-modules, the control board.

Would not cost a lot to ship if sold without the LVPS' Smile

Guys,

The 8500 Tan was a special version modified by Tan for blending purposes. They claim mods to the boards for higher convergence stability and geometry. Those 8500 tan were used in a Total immersion 3d room , 5 or 6 unita blended together. I have 2 of them together with The tan blending unit and they are rock stable. Tan is now a Barco company.
If are looking for a non ultra to ultra conversion grab the set. Thumbs Up Laughing

The neckboards are now gone!

K-L-O is right, there is a black box with dip switches for strength on the module.

I had a TAN blending unit I sold off in 2004 I think, to a guy from Germany.

Hello,

I own two TAN myself. I came across the Tan blend unit once, but I had no data on it. Looked like it was PC controlled?
Any info on the unit? Anything, absolutely anything appreciated!

Regards

Marc

Well I bought some of these tan modified boards. The HDM, the focus and the 3 back boards. Hope it will make convergence more stable. Did tan modify the lvps too?

The neckboards that I bought before where exceptional high bandwidth one at least but only the electrolutic capacitors seemed changed.

Hello,

not that I know of. The only change known to mankind is the black box on the focus board for a tiny bit of extra geometry.

My second Tan had stopped working a while ago. Not too bad as I have to move the cinema equipment anyway. Then I am hoping for Dr. Barclay. While inspecting for faults he can check the Tans for modifications. But Helmut Tan created complete display solutions by offering the full video chain to the customers. Both of my machines come directly from BMW.
Helmut Tan was not the Mike Parker of Germany.

J,
sorry - hope was the wrong word. Counting seems more appropriate knowing you.

They also replaced a lot of caps. The caps with the black mark on them are different from standard. I guess they also replaced caps in the power supply but probable nothing else.

Can you upload some photos? All TANs I have seen so far (from several different BMW factories) were identical to each other. That includes software versions. I would like to compare your pics with my TANs and other Marquees.

I just sent an Email to my BMW contact person, asking for details and the PC control software of the TAN Blender. Maybe he also finds a forgotten room with CRTs.

As i am planning to blend my two 8500 Ultras, i am very interested in buying such a TAN box.
I have Focus boards with black boxes, Contrast modulation boards and fast green tubes in both projectors.
Which additional boards and what version of software (current 4,4) would be needed to get a "rock stable"
easy to blend unit?
Seems to be the easiest solution for a good way of blending i've heard of so far.
Am i right?
Thank you, Julian
