I'll probably DVR it, had a long night/morning with the daughter as you can probably tell by some of my 3AM posts
I'm far more excited about Colbert on the Late Night Show - I very much miss The Colbert Report. His Bill O'Reilly-esque character was always entertaining

I quit watching Letterman about 10 years ago and literally haven't watched an episode in years. Sorry to be a wet blanket, but I really couldn't care less. I'll be even less interested in watching with Colbert on the show. The "snark" schtick from Colbert and Stewart just doesn't do it for me.

I'll watch it. Maybe not live. I really enjoyed the special CBS aired the other night before his show with Obama as a guest. Brought a tear to my eye on a few memories.
Dave was by far my favorite and I'll miss him. I think he was every bit as much of a icon as Johnny was.

Funny how different people's tastes are. I grew up with Johnny and loved his show. He was a class act but he was never afraid to act silly to entertain his audience.
But I never liked Letterman, even when he first took over the big shows. Over the years I think he's just gotten older and less funny. Every time I see a clip from his shows I wonder "How did he ever get a show in the first place, and why is he still there!?"
I like watching the occasional Stewart rant. He's very heavy-handed with his humor and IMHO would benefit from a bit more subtle touch. But he frequently skewers targets that really, really deserve it.
I like the Jimmy Fallon bits I've seen. He reminds me of Johnny in a lot of ways.

Wow you guys...I LOVE Letterman! I had my first bout of insomnia in 1984 and have watched ever since. Love the sarcasm!
I too loved Carson. There will never be another like him. Nor where there ever be another Dave. I am a fan. I have watched many of the 19 000 guests and will miss his show. It has been a constant in my live for 31 years and it's going to feel weird to not be able to switch over to "Dave"

Top 10 Things I've always wanted to say to Dave:
10 Alec Baldwin: Of all the talk shows yours is most geographically convenient to my home
9 Barbra Walters: Dave did you know you wear the same cologne as MuamMar Gaddafi?
8 Steve Martin: Your extensive plastic surgery was a necessity AND a mistake
7 Gerry Seinfeld: Dave I have no idea what I'll do when you go off the air. I just thought of something I"ll be fine
6 Jim Carry: Honestly Dave, I've always found you to be bit of an over actor!
5 Chris Rock: I'm just glad your shows is being given to another white guy
4 Julia Louis Dreyfus: Thanks for letting me take part in another hugely disappointing series finally
3 Payton Manning: Dave you are to comedy to what I am to comedy
2 Tina Fey: Thanks for finally proving men CAN be funny
1 Bill Murray: Dave, I'll never have the money I owe you

I only watched a few Episodes of his show but didn't find many of his jokes funny
I would get a kick of some of the top ten lists though(including the one above that ar has posted)
Due to work though most times I don't get to watch much TV as I pull late nighters so I can have a bit extra money

AnalogRocks,
Would that be Jerry Seinfeld, with a J?

For those that loved it, sorry it is gone. I haven't watched a single show in years, so for me it isn't a big deal.
