Is there or are there any plans for an autocalibration program for HTPC:s that does similar work as Lumagen or DVDO regarding colours and gamma?

I´m no computer scientiest but it shouldn´t be impossible since computers can be used to practically do anything, and it would save a lot of headaches for crt users.

Best regards

Good question. Not to my knowledge.

It's not an obvious thing as you'd need both HDMI input and output cards if you wanted it to be a "black box" like a Radiance or DVDO, and as far as I know there's no simple way to do the input/capture.

Then throw in the nightmare that is drivers, updates, and different versions of video cards and operating systems, and different signal levels, and I think it would be a royal nightmare to manage and support.

Having used an HTPC for years, I'd certainly not want any part of it. Wink

Not sure how this works. Might be only for monitors that have extensive controls.

Correct - it's only PC monitor (ICC) profiling, similar to what you get with the various software that comes with meters.

PC/Mac ICC profiling that comes for free with pretty much all maters has always been "automatic". You run the software, place the meter on the display, and the software creates an ICC profile on the PC or Mac for that monitor. It's not for Home Theater.
