Shipping would be a PITA, but I've got access to some premade panels cheap here. $1500 for I think 8 4' X 4' panels and controller.

One of my ex staff built one for his now defunct company showroom. It looked really cool, but he did smoke a LOT of herb to build it. Smile

Do you have any pics?
Also exact dimensions and definate price would be great.
The space which will have the starlight ceiling will be 12.5 ft wide by 16 ft deep. Ill probably run bulkheads around perimeter to reduce sizes depending on sizes of panels you have.

OK, I finally got pix today!

Each panel is 4' X 4', there are 8 panels in all. One panel has a cutout for the projector pole to come through for the old install.

Each panel interconnects, and runs on 12 volts. This one had a computer power supply driving it. very simple to replace.

There are a series of spare LED strips as shown.

The plastic of course comes off the panels. They don't twinkle, they just light up.

Also, Huggy has first dibs on this, which is why I posted the pix here and not on my original thread. The third pix from the bottom shows the panel lit up. Varying levels of brightness, I believe the holes in the black material are simply different sizes to account for the varying brightness levels.

I had something like that growing up. My dad used black acoustic ceiling tiles/tracks, white mini lights (I'd use LED now), and old school light brights stuck through the panels. We thought it was awesome as kids and cost nearly nothing. Wish I had some pictures to show you, but I don't think anyone ever thought to take a picture of the ceiling.

I think I'll pass on this Curt, doesn't seem nearly as many stars as I want, I was hoping for about 100 per panel, plus the shipping will kill me plus the hole in one, too many compromises, better I just make it myself exactly the way I want it.
Thanks for the effort none the less. Thumbs Up

Dave
