Hi

I've got some problems with my Barco Data 708s.
The last 5 times I've been using it, suddenly there is one or more out of these three OSDs:
"Projector address: 0",
"Warning Invalid key entry" or
"Brightness 49"
They are only visible for 3 secs and it's about 3-15 mins in between.
The picture is perfect, but the remote isn't working when the OSD comes up and until I turn it off.
Last night, after a few OSDs the green CRT turned off.
Powered it off really quickly so I had no chance to check the LEDs.

Any ideas?
Yes, I tried to remove the remote battery. The remote is not transmitting.
Green CRT is OK today.

Clean the connector for the internal remote. Probably not that, but my CineMAX does something simular when im trying to use the remote sometimes, i havent done anything to figure out why yet.

Press the little recessed button on the remote, and then press 0,0,0. That will reset the remote address, which is most likely what your problem is.

Curt:
Pressing the rescessed button results in osd: projector address 0
Pressing 0 results in Warning Invalid key entry.
And the problem is still there.

Case:
There is no internal remote on this projector. Only a keypad with rubber buttons on the back of the CPU board.

What if I disconnect the IR receiver to se what will happen?

I think the problem is that you accidentally pressed the "text" button. The remote is working but when you press this button the screen will not display all of text on the screen. Note sure about why your green tube goes dead. That is a much bigger issue.

barco 75:
It happens even with no batteries in the remote.

I think there is a problem with the IR receiver or the CPU board.
Something makes the CPU think there is some wierd input from the remote.
It's possible to turn of one tube using the remote, so I'm not that worried yet.

Problem solved (I think).
Disconnected all connectors on the controller, cleaned up behind the rubber buttons and put everything together again.
Now it has been running for hours without problems.
