Okay, first REAL problem I have ever had with this set. Just happened a few minutes ago during a PlayStation session.

The tubes display at regular brightness, then much less, then back to normal. They actually turned off a few times as well before coming back. This has never happened before.

I do not think it is the cables, but will triple check anyway.

Thoughts? Power supply problems?

Before you do anything, do the test patterns do it? All colors?

Not sure about the test patterns. I did pull up the main diagnostic screen using the * button to see if they would be affected. They went out too.

It seemed like one of the colors would drop out or go to super low brightness. It would come back and do it again in maybe 5-10 second intervals.

The set is running right now with problems...yet.

Does the picture 'zoom' in when it comes back, or just flash on and off'?

One of your VNB's might be bad. Causing the Spotikill circuit to kick in . If it defocused then it be a HV problem.

I don't think the focus went out. Any way to diagnose these firsthand? I have a spare set of parts, minus the neck boards and power supplies. Maybe if I caught it on video?

The diagnostics on the back read everything as A-okay.
